In Malaysia's growing neuro-rehabilitation sector (operating in elite hubs like Sunway Medical, Cheras Rehab Hospital, or private cognitive clinics), they are desperately sought after to map brain damage.

Their daily life is an intense immersion in "Psychometrics." If a 25-year-old survives a horrific motorcycle crash with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), the Neurosurgeon saves their life. But months later, the patient's personality has completely changed, and they cannot remember their family. The Neuropsychologist takes over. They run brutal, incredibly precise cognitive assessments (like the WAIS or WMS), testing the patient's spatial reasoning, short-term memory, and executive function.

They draft massive, highly detailed clinical diagnostic reports that legally dictate a patient's access to disability benefits, or prove to a court of law that a patient is no longer mentally competent to manage their own bank account (Forensic Neuropsychology). They design the "Cognitive Rehabilitation" plan, teaching the patient's brain how to rewire itself around the dead tissue. AI can grade an IQ test, but AI cannot coax a frustrated, brain-damaged patient into completing a 4-hour exam, intuitively separate physical brain damage from severe psychological trauma, or gently explain to a weeping wife that her husband's personality is permanently gone. It is a profoundly intellectual, highly respected, and deeply essential career.
