To succeed, a Debt Collector must be a master of psychological pressure and negotiation. They use skip tracing techniques, calling relatives or old workplaces to hunt down borrowers who have changed their phone numbers. They must be firm enough to demand payment, but empathetic enough to restructure a loan into a manageable payment plan if the borrower has lost their job.
