Valuation Assistant W19

The Pembantu Penilaian (W19) is a hybrid field-and-desk role primarily attached to the Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH) or Local Municipal Councils (PBT). Whenever a property is sold, the government needs to know its exact market value to charge the correct Stamp Duty. When the government acquires land for a highway, they must know its value to compensate the owner fairly. The W19 Assistant is the person who goes to the physical site to gather this data.

Their day involves traveling to houses, commercial lots, or rural agricultural land. They physically measure the building dimensions, take photographs of renovations (like a kitchen extension), note the condition of the property, and check the surrounding infrastructure. They return to the office, draft floor plans, and input this data so the senior Valuation Officer (Grade W41) can calculate the final monetary value.

This role is excellent for SPM holders who like a 50/50 split between outdoor physical activity and indoor analytical work. Because every property is unique, AI cannot easily automate the physical inspection of a newly renovated house, keeping the W19 role highly secure.
