The Tooling and Die Maintenance Technician is the elite surgeon of the heavy manufacturing world. When an automotive factory stamps out a thousand car doors a day, the massive steel mold (the die) taking that brutal impact eventually wears down or cracks by a fraction of a millimeter. If that die is not perfectly repaired, every single car door produced will be defective. This technician ensures absolute zero defect manufacturing by keeping the master molds flawless.

Daily life in the tooling room is a high stakes blend of heavy lifting and microscopic precision. The technician uses overhead cranes to move massive, multi ton steel blocks onto workbenches. They then utilize highly advanced CNC milling machines, wire EDM cutters, and precision hand grinders to shave away damaged steel.
