Telecom Project Coordinator

Penyelaras Projek Telekomunikasi

"This administrative and project management sector focuses on bridging the gap between field engineering teams, vendors, and corporate management to ensure telecom rollouts happen on time."

The Career Story

Telecom Project Coordinators are the conductors of the telecom rollout orchestra. To strictly differentiate: The Site Supervisor manages the physical concrete pouring on site. The NOC Engineer fixes the software. The Project Coordinator sits in the office, tracking the budget, ordering the antennas, and scheduling the Site Supervisor and NOC Engineer so they do not clash.

A telecom network upgrade (like moving from 4G to 5G) involves thousands of sites and millions of ringgit. The Telecom Project Coordinator ensures the chaos is organized. Their primary tool is Excel or project management software (like MS Project or Jira). They track every single milestone of a tower build.

They must ensure the Site Acquisition Officer (SACO) gets the permit on Monday, so the Rigger can install the antenna on Wednesday, so the BSS Engineer can integrate it on Friday. If it rains and delays the rigger, the Coordinator must instantly reschedule everyone else and explain the delay to the corporate clients.

It is a high-communication, fast-paced desk job. They spend their days chasing vendors for equipment deliveries, checking contractor invoices, and updating massive rollout trackers. It is an excellent entry point into the lucrative world of Project Management (PMP).
