Their daily life is an exercise in extreme, molecular puzzle-solving. They literally build molecules atom by atom. AI is heavily disrupting this field through "Computational Chemistry", which predicts which chemical reactions will work before a human enters the lab. However, the AI cannot physically mix the toxic chemicals, purify the final product, or troubleshoot a failing physical reaction. The deep intuition, physical laboratory mastery, and extreme patience required make this an irreplaceable, genius-level career.
