Pool Attendant and Lifeguard

Working by the pool is often perceived as glamorous, but the reality is one of extreme vigilance and harsh physical conditions. A Lifeguard sits on a high chair for hours, scanning the water continuously. They cannot look at their phone; they cannot daydream. If a child slips under the water, they have seconds to react, dive in, and perform CPR. Their primary job is prevention; blowing the whistle to stop running, stopping dangerous diving, and enforcing hygiene rules.

In many hotels, the role is combined with a Pool Attendant. This means alongside saving lives, they must fold hundreds of heavy, wet towels, align the sun loungers perfectly, and skim leaves or insects out of the water. They work outdoors, subjected to brutal midday sun, heavy humidity, and sudden tropical thunderstorms.

This role demands peak physical fitness and specialized life-saving certifications. It is an excellent job for those who love the outdoors, have strong swimming abilities, and possess a calm, authoritative demeanor to enforce rules on misbehaving tourists. Because AI cannot rescue a drowning child, job security remains absolute.
