Their primary duty is to collect biological specimens drawn at local private clinics or small hospitals and rush them to central diagnostic pathology labs (like Gribbles, Pathlab, or BP Lab) for processing.

Time and temperature are their greatest challenges. A blood or tissue sample will spoil if exposed to Malaysia's intense heat. Therefore, couriers must manage specialized cooler boxes, ensuring dry ice or ice gels maintain precise temperatures. They must follow strict containment procedures to prevent contamination if a tube breaks during transport.
