Their daily life is lived in SQL databases and Tableau dashboards. They answer massive logistical questions: "Why is the waiting time in the Emergency Room 4 hours on Tuesdays?" or "Why are claims for knee surgeries spiking in Penang?" They extract millions of lines of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), clean the data using Python, and present beautiful, interactive dashboards to the Hospital CEO.

In the Insurance sector, they are a type of specialized data scientist. They analyze patient lifestyles, predicting which demographics are most likely to develop diabetes, allowing the company to adjust their insurance premiums accordingly. They also build algorithms to detect massive medical insurance fraud.

AI is a massive tool here, automatically flagging anomalies in hospital spending. However, the Analyst must translate that AI data into human strategy, convincing stubborn doctors and hospital administrators to actually change how they run their wards.
