This involves physical work: climbing tall ladders, walking on roofs, pulling cables through tight ceiling spaces, and drilling through concrete walls. Once the cable is inside, they splice a delicate connector onto the end, plug it into the modem, and configure the Wi-Fi router.

Half of this job is technical; the other half is customer service. They must explain to angry or confused customers why the Wi-Fi signal might be weak in the back bedroom, upsell mesh routers, and ensure the house is left clean after drilling.
