Our solution automizes commercial fishing sustainably, reducing bycatch an environmental harm. This is also aligned with United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) Number 14. The system consists of two robots for scouting and catching. The autonomous detection system by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) will detect the number of fish and any protected species such as turtle and sharks. The inference from AI will guide the catcher robot that carries the net to the fish without disturbing any protected marine life. The captured fish will be sorted by size through a gating mechanism. After docking, the robot is emptied and redeployed. The system works in sync for an efficient, sustainable fishing experience.

  • I learnt how to survive in the wilderness for 4 days and 3 nights, manage myself through the heat and humidity of the morning and the coldness of the night. Other than that, I managed to survive multiple challenges such as various insects and broken equipment. Through this event, I drastically increased my patience and humility. I also managed to win the 2nd Best Participant in the Marching Award.
