Miniature Pioneering Model This miniature pioneering model represents a multi-level pioneering structure constructed using traditional pioneering techniques, with emphasis on structural stability, functionality, precision and creativity. The main structure is built primarily from natural wooden and bamboo poles, joined together using carefully executed rope lashings and pioneering knots. The model incorporates several structural elements, including a raised platform, supporting framework, ladder system, elevated upper section and a roof-like shelter. Each component is designed to demonstrate how individual poles and lashings can work together to form a stable and functional structure. Particular attention was given to the lashings and joint connections, as these are essential in pioneering construction. The repeated rope work throughout the model demonstrates patience, consistency and an understanding of how different structural components can be secured without relying on modern fasteners. The miniature also incorporates a natural outdoor setting, with a grass-covered base to create a more realistic representation of an actual pioneering environment.

In my year as a Form 3, I participated in a national STEM competition held by Creative Minds Education targeted towards Secondary Students. I received a Certificate of Participation for my prototype model of a Mars Rover that could easily traverse and handle the harsh conditions of Mars. I named it "Tenacity" as to show the commendable endurance in battling its' fate of breaking down in outer space, persevering through and fulfilling its' duty.
